Known in Hebrew as  Basis Kheil HaAvir Ramat David  this Israel Air Force Base previously operated under the British Mandate of Palestine from 1942 to 1948 as RAF Ramat David.

After the Israeli Declaration of Independence in early 1948, RAF Ramat David was handed over on 26 May 1948 to the newly created Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Currently Ramat David AFB has four squadrons based :

109 sqn F16D "Barak"

110 sqn F16C "Barak"

117 sqn F16C "Barak"

193 sqn AS565 "Atalef"

On the 19th April 2018 the IDF celebrated it's 70 years of Independence with a number of  Air Force Base open days and Ramat David was selected to host one of these events. As with all IDF events only Israeli citizens can attend, so with an invite from the base commander Aviation Reporting kindly accepted and were allowed to photograph the event.
