Albacete Air Base southern Spain is host four times per year to the Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP). TLP has become the focal point for NATO’s Allied Air Forces tactical training and development of knowledge and leadership skills. Held during spring, summer, autumn and winter Albacete hosts NATO aircraft for a four week period, one week of classroom work, two weeks of day missions and one week of night missions.

As well as hosting the TLP, Albacete has a rework facililty on base and on the farside of the airfield is the Eurocopter facility which builds the NH-90 and Tigre helicopters as well as reworking Puma's and Super Puma transport helicopters.

During a winter sunny spell in southern Spain Aviation Reporting was able to catch many types of helicopters and fighters flying over a two day period.
