Viterbo Army base Italy is home to the Aviazone Dell' Esercito the Army Aviation Training Centre (AATC).

This is home to the newly created AVES (Aviazone Dell' Esercito) museum and is located inside the “Dante Chelotti” barracks AATC.

The walk through guided tour lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours and takes your through many rooms and a corridor which is the interior of a CH-47 Chinook. The museum features the rich history of the Aviazone Dell' Esercito from it's beginnings to the operations in the modern day theatre.

Inside the museum has a L-18, L-21 and a AB47G. Once outside you walk onto a grassed area with a three aircarft a L-19, SM1019 and AB47J, once passing the AB47 to a very large reversed "C" courtyard, in this area you have many variants of Helicopters these include in viewing position... CH47C, AB206, AB204, AB205, AB109, AB212 x2, and a A129.

This was a great tour around this small museum and very insighful from our AVES hosts.

NOTE..prior permission must be obtained before you can visit the Museale dell' Aves as you are entering an active airfield.
