Sultan's Armed Forces Museum Muscat Oman 2017
During September 2017, whilst on vacation in Muscat, I had the opportunity to visit the Sultan's Armed Forces Museum.
Inaugurated in 1988, the museum is located in the 150 year old Bait Al Falaj fort which was once the Headquarters for the Sultan Said bin Sultan's armed forces. The museum has exhibits relating to all aspects of Oman's military history. There are internal displays of weapons and uniforms with displays detailing various national conflicts. Externally displayed are vehicles, ex Omani Air Force aircraft and a gunboat. Overall a worthwhile place to visit, staff were professional and extremely courteous even providing a personal guide.
