Moody AFB - President George W. Bush Air Park 2013

Dedicated to former president George W. Bush, who spent over a year in pilot training at Moody AFB, from 1968 to 1969, the air park which was opened on the 20th May 2011 showcases aircraft who flew with the world famous "Flying Tigers" over more than a 70 year period. A plaque commemorating President George W. Bush was unveiled at the dedication ceremony, which was the final step in the completion of the year long heritage project on Moody AFB.

In 2005 the 23rd Wing (WG) "Flying Tigers" relocated from Pope AFB NC to Moody AFB Valdosta GA and still trains pilots today for the 23rd WG, aircraft assigned are the A-10 "Thunderbolt II", MC-130 "Hercules" and HH-60 "Pavehawk" in the Combat Search And Rescue (CSAR) role.

The park is situated on base some 800m South East of the main gate, none of the aircraft can be seen from outside and prior permission is required at least 45 days before from the base PAO to visit the collection.
