Located 61 miles North of Indianapolis is Grissom ARB home to the 434th ARW with their KC-135R's. Just off highway 218 on W.Hoosier Blvd is the Grissom Air Museum which was founded in 1981 and opened in 1982 outside what was then the main base gate.
The museum has 32 aircraft but only 24 are currently on display. The visitor could do with keeping an eye on the opening hours as there is spring, summer and fall opening times. Even if you arrive late, most of the aircraft are outside and can easily be seen from the fence, but two cockpits remain inside. There is a well stocked gift shop and for only $7.00 adult price the museum is well worth a visit, with a range of aircraft from the Cessna U-3A up to the impressive TB-58 "Hustler", which is only one of only 8 survivor's.The museum has a good range of fighter's from the late fifties and sixties for you to view and photograph in a spacious a very photo friendly air park.
